ECM to HEI Problems!

Ok so I have a 87 Sport Coupe that I recently put a new 350 in and well it was overheating. I was advised it was over heating because the harness wasnt connected to the temperature sensors and the o2 sensor was also disconnected so it was running lean.

So I went out and bought a new carb and installed it yesterday and well once everything was in place it started right up no problem, I cruised the parking lot of my apartments for about 5 minutes and when I parked it, it died. I advanced the ignition a bit and nothing.

I decided to install a new distributor I bought because I figured might as well have a new start with everything brand new so I started at Top dead center, took out the old one, put the new one in. Connected the pink and white wires to the new one and set the firing order correctly and now IT DOESNT WANT TO START. I started over 2 more times and still nothing. It just sometimes spits gas out of the carb and turns over, shows no signs of even sparking up.

Im at a complete stop here, could driving it for about 5 minutes yesterday have messed up the engine? Why did it sputter and not want to turn on after that? What can I do to the ignition now? Anything advice would be deeply appreciated.

Have you actually confirmed you have no spark at the plugs??

If so do the no spark diagnostics

No what I meant was like it shows no attempt at firing up, it just cranks and sputters.

have you verified your getting spark at the plugs? pull a plug and lay it against the block, have a buddy crank it.

what kind of carb did you put on?
