1986 trans am no power HELP

so i just put short tube headers on my 86 trans am 305 tpi and my positive cable leading to my starter hit the headers and melted while i was driving and killed all the power in the car, no lights no hazards or nething. So i took off the wire and had NAPA splice and put the wire back together and i put it back on and made sure no other wires hit the headers and there are no fuses blown under the dash, and the car still has no power. I tried jumping it nothing happened plz help this is my only transportation

Use a voltmeter or bulb and check both sides of the fusible links.

Fusible Links usually look like a one inch plastic rod in line with the wire and are located near the battery or at the starter.
