Wiring Harness Removal..???

Hello, i'm doing my lt1 swap and am removing my complete wiring harness. I've removed all plugs from the engine, transmission, AC/Heater box, accessories, wiper motor, other things on the firewall.

In the driver side corner of the engine bay, the harness enters the firewall...do i have to remove the dash to get to that? And on the passenger side, the harness goes into the fender. How do I remove that? I followed and removed the panel by the ecm. I just can not get the wires to move. They are in this clip looking square. If keeping the harness from moving is its job, IT IS DOING GREAT lol

c100 has a a bolt going through that needs to be removed. There is a pass through stud going through the bilk head. Remove the two nuts to release it from the body.

Re: Wiring Harness Removal..???

Okay, I saw the clips you were refering to and I've gotten the harness threw the pass side fender. Now, I just have to see what the c100 is and go from there. In the driver side corner, was a bracket that had 2 connectors plugged to it. Due to it's position, I had to remove the 2 bolts to take it off to remove the connectors. Is that the c100 thing your talking about? Or is the c100 passing thew the firewall? The bundle of wires i'm referring to has no bolts holding it, that I can see. It just passes threw a hole. The engine comes out tomorrow so maybe I'll have a better view of everything. Thanks for your help thus far!!! I appreciate it.

Re: Wiring Harness Removal..???

if its the C100 connector it should have the headlight harness and engine harness going into it. If that the one you are refering to. the bolt to take it apart is right in the middle of the connector. its pretty small but its there

Re: Wiring Harness Removal..???

so when removing the wiring harness, should ANY wires be pulled threw the firewall by the steering column?? there are no bolts holding it in that I saw. It's just ran threw the hole.

Re: Wiring Harness Removal..???

Okay, you were right. there is a connector with a bolt in it. I've turned the bolt like 500 times and it won't come out. Nevertheless, the engine is out so fining the retrieval of the harness should be easier. Any thoughts on why the bolt just spins and spins but doesnt come out?

The screw may not come completly out but once loosened the two halls of c100 will separate.

Re: Wiring Harness Removal..???

Okay, good to hear. Will be attempting once more tomorrow. It gets 95 hot and humid degrees out and with no shade or wind so when things such as this does not want to cooperate, you move on or sweat to death/fry. Unbolting the lt1 tomorrow so hopefully i can start removing that by maybe saturday.
