Hey guys, I am new to the form. I just bought a 91 camaro RS with 5.0 TBI (i know gutless V8). I bought the car from my wife's uncle they lost the chipped key for the car no big problem. I brought the car to the chevy dealer i use to work for. They let me use a machine with 15 different resisters in it to found out which resister it was to start the car. it was #9 key not a problem right. Wrong the car started up with the machine but as soon as I tried starting the car with the key chipped the security light came on and nothing happend the car didnt turn over anymore. so i tried the bypass vats system with a the right amount of ohms. and still the car wont turn over and the security light is still on. I am not sure what is going on. any help will help thanks guys and gals.

 

If the light is on then the VATS system not see the resistors you installed
recheck your wiring.

You installed the resistors on the correct side of the VATS wiring
To the car ; not to the key ?????????
