Fuel sender wiring missing

Fuel sender wiring missing
I'm putting my 83 z back together from a basket case that a previous owner started. I have what looks like a harness coming from the sender in the fuel tank. that is routed around the tank to the drivers side with a two pin connector .it terminates right by the frame rail and I cannot find any harness to connect it to.is the wiring to the fuel sender wiring supposed to be in the tail light harness?

Wire Mire
It’s a purple wire which travels from the connector located behind the rear seat, to the dash.
The Taillight Harness starts at the left rear hatch therefore is separate.
