Hi I am installing 86 tpi corvette engine in my 91 tbi rs. I have the vette harness buy I know it is too short, so I am thinking of merging the too harnesses,using the tbi harness and the tpi as the donor and matching up to the pin outs of the vette ecm.I will extend any of the tpi specific wires to the ecm. Just wondering how many of the pinouts and pinins are common between the tbi and tpi. I have done a couple of harnesses in the past so I am no rookie or no pro on this. I am hoping I can save some dollars over buying a f body tpi harness. Hoping for some imput here Thanks Mike

 

Absolutely none of the corvette body connections line up a single wire with a 3rd gen harness, plus the routing is completely different

The good news is corvette TPI harnesses retain value pretty good, selling it and buying a 90-92 fbody TPI harness should break even or net a profit. If you're in a pinch, a modified 90-92 v6 harness can be modified without much difficulty

I don't recommend attempting to repin the TBI harness to run a TPI

It will work if repinned. MAF TPI system is more dated than SD

 

Thanks , I am using the 86 vette maf system so an 87 f body maf harness should do the trick? are there other parts of the harness that may not match up to the 91 body, Thanks Mike
