I have an 88 Trans Am GTA with the digital dash option.
I'm gonna ask 2 questions here.
1, Does anyone know just how many of these GTA's left the factory with digital dashes, because i dont see many at all, advertised for sale or at shows with them. There is plenty of real nice GTA's on the roads, but veeeeeeeeeery few digital dash cars?
2, Does anyone know of a company that would come recomended that could repair, or refurb my digital dash to new condition?
It all works but the mile trop is starting to loose some pixels.

There are no exact numbers for the digital dashes in GTAs because in 87 Pontiac didn't keep production records specifically for the GTA, but in general, about 1/2 of the 87 and 88 GTAs came with the digital dash. Only 3 came in 89, and none beyond that.

With respect to getting the dash fixed, here in the states National Radio in Syracuse NY was (still is?) the most widely used repair facility for GM digital clusters. They may still be able to service/repair them if they have any parts left. Your best bet would probably to find somebody parting one out and get the parts that you need. You can swap the displays pretty easily, and since the actual information is stored elsewhere, swapping the display won't actually change the displayed mileage.

 

I think you mean "United Radio" up in New York. I don't know for sure if they can help - but it's one of the places I'd try !

I had my cluster repaired last year. The displays that tell the oil pressure, engine temp, and battery voltage didn't work and my odometer display didnt display all the numbers. I had my cluster fixed by Eastern Electronics. GM usually outsources its repairs to them too.

I know you are in England, but this is the only place that I know for sure does this stuff. The results are pretty good, but it was 300 bucks to have it done.
In my opinion worth every penny, cause it looks great.
