Driving/fog light remote
Hi all, I bought an aftermarket driving light kit, with the relay and new switch and all from autozone and installed it with no prob. (I have a 91 bird )However, I want to install a remote control (keyfob deal) to turn the lights on when I get out of the car and walk to the front door of my house so I don't break my neck in the dark, and then hit the off button on the remote to shut them back off. I just don't know where to tap into the wires safely to get the lights power, even when the car is off. Straight from the battery, or off the relay? Any ideas would be great. the control module for the remote has positive and neg in, and pos and neg out. Thanks

Re: Driving/fog light remote
Assuming the switch you installed controls the relay's coil(as it should) then you want to connect the remote to the switch wires. This way the remote acts as a bypass to the switch and turns the relay on to turn your lights on and off.
You need to make sure the remote's control module will do what you want it to. With the way you describe the wiring for it, it will work one of 2 ways:
1-one set of wires powers the box and the other set is for your connections to the switch and one remote button is "on" and the other is "off"
2-both sets of wires are for connecting to switches/relays/etc and each button on the remote only turns one set of wires "on" while you are pressing the button. This means you would have to hold the remote button down while you are walking to your door. This is the more likely scenario in my experience.
If you can post a pic of the remote modules wiring instructions and the fog lights wiring instructions, I can be more specific.

Re: Driving/fog light remote
The relay kit is a basic fog light installation kit from autozone or o'riellys, which included a switch and relay. I can't find the instructions for it. I installed it a while ago when the factory fog light switch decided to stop working. Its hooked up per the instructions that came with it. When the key is turned forward or the car is running, the lights will turn on. I will try to insert a pic of the instructions for the remote. Basically a control box, with a key fob that has on and off buttons. Would it be alright to come straight from the battery with an inline fuse to the remote box, then to the lights?
