Camaro 350 tbi with a 4l60e lol big issues
Ive just purchased a 92 camaro rs thats been pieced together over the years. The motor (350 tbi)runs great and seems somewhat strong but my big problems are the 4l60e tranny. Car came with a 700r4 but the previous owners put in a 4l60e tranny out of a 95 camaro when the 700 went out. Only have 2nd and 3rd but have to shift manually (which is fine if i had all the gears). With what im assuming is stock wiring for the 92 camaro (doesnt look to be all hacked up, everything looks to be where it should and not spliced together) can i go in and wire the trans up to get it to work properly. I know there will have to be some jimmy rigging im sure but not trying to spend 600 on a stand alone controller. This seems to be best place to go ive looked over several carb swaps and retaining the 4l60e so im hoping not to go out and buy new tranny (lol at that point id have more in the tranny than i do the car price was 700 so couldnt pass up, maybe i should of lol). Im no master mechanic but have found theres nothing i cant fix with the right help lol usually from my dad but us both being ford guys kinda at a loss here.
thanks for any help

Need some clarification:
You're saying that 1st and 4th are gone completely?
Did the PO ever confirm that the car used to drive properly?

the 4l60e is not wired up at all, wires are just tied up but being that the car came with 700r4 (non electric trans there are not any plugs to hook up tranny i will have to construct my own)

Ah, ok. I have no knowledge of how to wire that thing up.
You may be better off finding a junkyard 700r4 instead of fighting with that.

Transgo makes a shift kit that makes the 4l60e fully manual and eliminates the need to hook up any electronics (converts to run off vacumn) will be stuck shifting to all gears but atleast ill have all gears. Price is 227 from summit racing. Think this will actually be easiest and cheapest route to go.

For a little bit more you could have something like this, idk if it helps or not...

The 4l60e needs the ecm to control the shifts, if you do not have the correct ecm then full manual is probably the only way you can use it. You can buy stand alone controllers for them but they are quite expensive. TCI make one if you want to go that route.
