91-92 Speedometer pegs
I have the 91-92 Camaro electric gauge cluster, and I finally got just about all of them to work except the speedo. When I started working with it I found out that the electric sender has two wires, but the gauge has one. So through some research I found that I need the buffer box.
After a trip to the junkyard I got a little yellow box out of a firebird, after I hooked it up the gauge "works" but not really in any sense that it's useful. It moves, but its very far ahead, for example the needle normally moves up slowly; this is however very fast, and by the time you are going around maybe 5mph the needle is tapping against the stopper, and then after that it resets all the way back to 0mph and sits there.
So am I missing like a resistor in the line between the box and the gauge? Or could the box just be bad? Or do firebirds have a different box?( I only thought to include this one because I cant find a board that looks like mine on the internet, they all look bigger and more complex, mine is very small and simple.) Thanks so much in advance.

The 91—92 speedo setup is different than the 83.
Get a buffer for a 91—92, as well as a VSS for a 91—92.
