Question
I have a 1991 Camaro rs with a 305 one day the speedo was workin fine then next it started not workin..... Now it works when it wants to anyone know what the problem is an the solution to fix it?

If the speedo cable isn't loose then the spring that holds the drive gear in the rear section of the trans may have worked its way off.

There is a gear on the tail shaft of the transmission which is held there by a spring. That drives another gear, which on a cable driven car goes to the speedo, or to a sensor that sends a pulse. It all depends on the type of trans you have. You didn't state in your first post whether you have a manual or automatic.
