Re: I just converted my iroc to a 5speed and having trouble wireing the revurse light

In 85 the reverse light wiring is different for each different type of Car/Engine combo.

All Auto's uses the same wiring, but Manual cars were all different. All cars got reverse light power from a dark blue wire leading from the TURN/B-U fuse. That blue wire then led to the Turn Flasher.

For Autos that Blue wire from the flasher then led to the PN switch

For 4-Cyl T5 cars that Blue wire from the flasher leads to the back-up switch in the tranny thru the C221 connector. ( Black plug, 6 pins near C207 )

For 6-Cyl T5 cars that Blue wire from the flasher leads to the back-up switch in the tranny thru the C100 connector. ( Firewall connector on drivers side. )

For 8-Cyl T5 cars that Blue wire from the flasher leads to the back-up switch in the tranny thru the C207 connector. ( Dash-to-ECM connectors )

Here is what is important to you:

The eaisest way ( IMO ) the get the back-up lights working again after a conversion is to run the Blue and Green wires from the tranny switch thru the hole in the floor for the shifter and Tap/Splice/Solder them to the Blue and Green wires at the original auto PN switch.

Hope that helps !

Thats the easiest solution for ALL auto to manual swaps. The same connector also houses the starter solenoid wires for the clutch safety switch any manual conversion SHOULD be adding
