Interior Lighting

Ok well my interior lighting, along with door unlock and lock, radio, and air control used to work. I did some work on the car this past weekend and after they stopped working. I changed the spark plugs, engine oil, oil filter, and changed coolant. After doing this they stopped working. Did a little research and came to conclusion that my fuse was messed up I checked and it was. I attempted to replace the fuse and when I plug it in it created a little spark and burned it again. It says its supposed to be a 20 fuse but it had a 15 so I tried to replace it with a 15 and it did that spark. Was this due to the fuse being a 15 and not a 20? Although it used to work fine before. Any advice as to how to approach this issue? Thanks!

All Amped Up

The 15 amp fuse was good enuff for the test.

You have a short.

The most likely cause is a shorted cigarette lighter.

Disconnect it to see if the fuses stop blowing.

Happy Racing !

Re: Interior Lighting

YUP, I second that. CTSY controls quite a bit, I am guessing that if you have an electric pull down motor for the trunk, it doesn;t work either. If it is not the cigar lighter do the following: take a multimeter and set it to check contnuity. Take one lead and touch it to ground and the other touch it to the fused side of the ctsy (the part that has power cut when fuse it pulled). If it reads continuity between the fused CTSY and ground, start unplugging all the individual components that dont work until it doesn't read continuity anymore.
With a test light plug the alligator clips to something hot at all times and touch the fused side of ctsy. If it lights you have a short. Unplug the components that dont work (not all at the same time) until the test light goes out. When it goes out, you have found your troublemaker electrical gremlin. Its less involved than it seems. good luck and have fun
