No Electrical?!?

When I got my car the battery in it was dead and I needed a new starter. So I took the batter out and put it on a trickle charger while I replaced the starter. Before I took the battery out the dome light would come on and the dash would light up. Now after I put the new starter in and hook the charged battery up, I HAVE NOTHING?!? I have no dome lights, no dash lights, nothing electrical. Tried Jumping the battery, different batteries but still nothing. HELP!

Re: No Electrical?!?

Go back and check the starter to make sure you didn't miss a wire. Another member just had the same thing happen to them.

Re: No Electrical?!?

Thanks, it was a missed wire on the starter. New problem is the starter wont engage when the key is turned.

If the lights dim and everything, check the neutral safety switch. I thought my starter was bad once, swapped it with a new selenoid, bypassed fusable links, etc. Had to pop start the car for 2 days. Turned out my switch was unplugged.

Re: No Electrical?!?

Thanks for the help.
Wiring a push button start on the car temporarily. Just going to run a new wire to the terminal and a positive off the battery to the push button. Should work better than using a screwdriver to jump the positive on the starter to the power lead.
