Short issue.

I posted here a while back about an instrument cluster fuse that keeps blowing. I did some research and found out that, that fuse also controls the warning buzzer for the lights if you leave them on after you shut that car off. I believe that the wire for the buzzer is arching somewhere because when I got the car the instrument cluster lights worked but the buzzer never did and also that fuse was circled in the owners manual fuse panel diagram. I was able to put in a fuse and the lights did work until I shifted into drive and the car moved forward. What I'm asking is if someone might have the wiring diagram or the location of the actual buzzer so that I can trace the wire and hopefully save myself 100's of dollars at a mechanic. Thanks Much
Dave.
Its an 82 Z28.

Re: Short issue.

So shifting the car popped the fuse?

Makes me wonder if the wire for the light in the shifter PRNDL might be rubbing somewhere? Haven't had my console apart, so I'm just guessing. But it seems weird that one thing lead to the other.

Re: Short issue.

the first hundred times lol i tried as soon as i turned on the lights the fuse blew. The idle is set high so when i shift to drive the car jumps so im thinking the wire that is grounding out or arching touched when the car jumped.
