IAC chatters?
Recently I've been chase after what feels to be a 101 little gremlins in order to get this 87 TPI 350 4o start and run on its own reliably.
Starting bat this point is the man issue and for most part once running n warm, its good to go but does have the suprise stall....
This morning, although have heard it before briefly, have foundthe cause, I caught IAC ( sensor below tps) chattering....plug in it chatters like its vibrating (car off and feel no actual viberation)
I really want to jump to the ideal its dead, but wanted to question cause of chatter and if anyone else has heard this before.
Also does this fit to the cause of no starts with out fluid....would that cause a stumble. I'm sure I'm done with this fix but I am wondering how long has this beeen playing wj th my heart and mind...lol

Re: IAC chatters?
That chatter generally is when the ECM moves the IACV to the closed position but continues to try to close the IACV even after it has bottomed out. When it does this it will start a chattering /clicking sound.
It sounds to me you might need to reset the IACV and set the Minimum Idle speed.
You start with setting the base timing to stock then perform the other two.
You will need a timing gun with RPM display to set the min. idle speed.
Here’s a link explaining how it’s done.
