87 Iroc electrical won't start!!

Well I'm new to third gens and i recently got my 87 iroc really cheap with a bunch of shorts on the cooling fans and headlights and etc. well i have been driving after i fixed those problems and now my car won't start..first i charged my battery, tried push starting it(manual trans), tried jumping it and still no power going inside the battery is good..nothing turns on but my headlights. so my windows won't go up or down neither does the electrical driver seat move back or forth. so then i tried to to see if there is spark and there wasn't any so i changed my ignition coil and the module that goes by it and still no spark and now i ran a wire from the battery to the coil and it finally turned on but that is the only way i can turn it on right now..so my question is what can cause this or is it just a burned wire?

Are you SURE your battery is good? I'd have it tested or swap it with a known good battery. Also make sure your ground cable from the battery is clean and connected good. Same goes for the hot cable from the battery to the starter.

Also, since you said the car came with electrical Mickey Mouse work (like mine), start at the fuse box.
1. Get your owners manual or a fuse box diagram specific to your car
2. Make sure everything has it's fuse
3. For all the existing fuses, while you are checking to see if they are good, make sure they are the right rating. If not, this will cause problems as well as a risk of fire.

No Power This Hour

It sounds like one or more Fusible Links are burned out or not properly connected.

Fusible Links usually look like a one inch plastic rod in line with the wire and are located near the battery or at the starter.

Using a test light
(the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) probe both sides (one side at a time) of the ACC fuse.

If there is power both sides, the problem is a bad connection from the link output to the items you mentioned.

If there is power only at one side, the problem is a bad fusible link.
