swapping to vortec looking for wiring diagrams

hello all im swapping a 96 vortec 350 into my 1983 trans am, ive already pulled the crossfire efi harness out of the car and and getting ready to start wiring up the harness for the vortec, i was wondering if anyone had the wiring diagram for the harness that comes through the firewall on the drivers side,(cant remember what its called right now) thanks in advance!

Do NOT follow that C100 diagram above !! It's from a 90+ ThirdGen and NOT compatible with your 83. ( Power distribution, Reverse lights, & wiper wires are wrong - just to name a few. )

Here is the C100 from an 82,.... your 83 should be the same; Compare your C100 to this diagram FIRST to be SURE !!




You're gonna' want to leave the C100 pretty much intact in your car and add the vortec harness as a 'stand alone" system by feeding it power and ground where needed. Might need to mess with the Alternator wire & you might need to tap into @ C100for the Tach wire since the Gen 1 distrib is not going to be used.

82-83 Wiper system is not compatible with any other year,.. so using any C100 harness other than a harness from the 82-83 Thirdgens will cause you some wiper motor nightmares !
