Wiring Help PLEASE HELP
I am just completing a swap from a 2.8 to a carbed 355 in 88 Camaro. I have mostly everything under control but just wanted to clarify a few things wiring wise.
the ignition wire that goes to the starter solenoid is the purple heavy gauge wire the comes from the drivers side junction block right?
also I know there should be a heavy gauge wire that powers the fuse block inside the car. I see two red heavy gauged wires that come through the firewall right next to the purple ignition (I think) wire. I assume they both power the fuse block. but I am not sure.
and lastly. I have the connector for the alternator on, one wire goes through the same junction block on the drivers side as the other heavy gauge wires I was talking about, and there are two other wires on that connect that was hooked up tot he ecm harness that I already removed, the previous owner did a swap for another 2.8 and wasn't too great at wiring, so it was just tied into other wires.
so if anyone could verify that I am correct about the heavy wires and identify what the three alternator wires are I would greatly appreciate it.
or if anyone could just point me in the direction of a good wiring diagram that would work too.
thanks again to anyone who helps.

Re: Wiring Help PLEASE HELP
There is a great set of wiring diagrams on austinthirdgen.org. I use them all the time when I don't have my shop manual in front of me.
The large purple wire comes through the C100 connector on the firewall beside the brake booster. It goes from the starter solenoid to the starter enable relay under the dash.
The heavy alternator wire goes to that junction block on the drivers side.
The heavy red wires that goes through the C100 powers the fuse block. One goes directly to the fuse block for circuits that need constant power. The other goes to the ignition switch first, then to the fuse block to power the circuits that run only when the key is in the on or accessory positions.
The smaller wires on the alternator I can't remember off the top of my head. I think one is for voltage regulation so it doesn't overcharge the battery, and I think the other is for your alternator gauge on the dash.
