rad fan relay power source

my 86 Camaro has the single fan set up. recently the fuseable link that powers the relay burned up. due to a failed relay, so im wondering if I can replace it with a inline fuse holder. BUT I cannot find what amperage fuse to use. anyone have any ideas?

Re: rad fan relay power source

DON'T use an inline fuse. Recipe for a GUARANTEED intermittent and source of future service requirements.

Use the right fusible link wire. Much better plan.

Since the fan has about #10 wire feeding it, you need about a #13 or #14 FL.

Yeah, I used to live in TN; I'm kinda accustomed to blank stares. (not that it's unique to TN, but, I feel ya)

you would NOT believe the "duct tape an wd-40" mechanics I run into here. im the kinda guy that likes to repair things properly, if at all possible. and a lot of my customers get mad at me because I will not "jury rig" their cars. its a lot of "cant you just"........fill in the blank.
