Power at battery ground, non at starter....
So I used a multimeter to test the battery since the car has no power to anything. It shows that there was 12V when I touched the negative battery cable (at the alt bracket) to another surface but when doing the battery cable at the starter and grounding it it says zero. And yes the cables are the battery right and the battery is fine when by itself, ever did it with another battery and its the same. What is going on?

Well I assume the car is not grounded. Im not sure what is wrong with the grounds. I painted the engine and bay but I would assume power could transmit throught the bolts and threads. I cleaned off the bolt location for the negative battery cable and the firewall ground but still same problem. I have no idea what to do.
5.7 91 tpi btw

Turns out this guy who had it before jerryrigged something on the positive cable which was not correctly done and i jiggled it and it fixed itself. Thanks anyways.
