Hi Guys,

I am trying to figure out if my VATS or my Starter is the cause of this symptom.

I hop in, car can be warm or cold, and the first time it nearly always has one single CLICK. Then Starts on the second attempt.

This is a new issue in the last few days, so something is going bad, and will likely get to the point where it strands me somewhere (hopefully in the garage!)

Googling around I find two top choices being VATS or Starter, and I have ruled out battery/cables as they are 100%.

Anyone been down this road and can steer me right before I waste money?

It's not your VATS. You will normally get nothing. Might be your solenoid or connections at starter.

My VATS is starting to go to crap , and if it doesn't turn over due to the security issue , I have to wait roughly three minutes before I try again . It NEVER works on the second try , so I wouldn't say its that .
