v8 wire harness to v6 engine

I just pulled the engine in my 1989 firebird 2.8 v6, and ive been looking online for some wiring harnesses but the only one i can find are for 3.8L v6 or a v8... i eventually wan too get a v8 engine in there when i get the money, so i wanted know if i could buy a wiring harnness for a v8 engine and have it still work for a v6 so that when i get the v8 i dont have to buy ANOTHER wiring harness... if not i still need to change my harness so if you have a link to one that will work that also will be very helpful! Thanks!

No

Just a FYI, 89's are unique. Using a harness from any other year will require changes. 90-92 are most similar, but again, not plug and play

Hi Pocket ,

Could you please explain a bit how they are different ? I happen to have an 89 and I'm now curious how the harness differs from the others ?

Re: v8 wire harness to v6 engine

Body pinouts prevent a plug and play swap

Year break downs are:
90-92 V6/TPI
90-92 TBI
89 All engines
88 All engines
86-87 V6/TPI
85-87 carb
85 V6/TPI

All of those are split into manual and auto

Move out of the year set, changes are REQUIRED

Small changes between V6 and TPI per year are expected, but the engine WILL run on the harness
