Module/ or headlight rebuild
Headlight pops up when only park lights are on. Headlight motors continue to run even though lights are completed the travel. Motor will stop after a few seconds.
Next I turn on headlights, and they turn on.
I've replaced the headlight module with a used one off eBay. Works the same as my old one. So naturally I feel I've purchase either a used pos or my original still works fine. My original one did have issues not popping up at times and when I tap the module it will wake up the relay.
Should I be looking into purchasing a rebuild kit from tds?

Re: Module/ or headlight rebuild
Just finished changing my muffler bearing and for some reason my headlights still don't work as they should.

Yea , I know it's kinda frustrating when no one answers ya , but I just chalk it up to no one having come by who knows the answer . Now since I have repaired a few of these I'll try to answer your questions ...Headlight pops up when only park lights are on. Headlight motors continue to run even though lights are completed the travel. Motor will stop after a few seconds.
Next I turn on headlights, and they turn on.

First , the thing that determines when the module will open the doors is the headlight switch itself . If the wiring is 100% stock and unhacked , the most likely cause of the doors opening with the parking lights would be that the switch itself has failed , thankfully replacements only run around $20 on Ebay
Second , if the motors keep running after the doors have reached the ends of their travel then the most likely cause is the 3 bushings in the kit and don't forget to do both sides you need 3 each side or 6 bushings total to do both sides . (I've seen kits of both 3 or 6 bushings , but I always get the 6 and do both at the same time) . In super rare instances it can be the nylon gear stripped , but it's FAR more likely to only need the bushings
Lastly , the modules themselves are known for weak soldering where the relay mounts to the board , and needing to bang on the unit to get it to function is a prime symptom of this . I have twice been successful in curing intermittent operation of the module by resoldering the relay to board connections .
Best of luck with it , and don't be standin behind it when them muffler bearings come shooting out
