I recently replaced the headlight switch in my '89 RS (would dearly love to meet the engineer responsible for the location of that component...) because it was shot. The next time I went for a drive in the dark, my headlights worked fine for about 15 minutes, then started cutting on & off at random. (They never did that with the old switch). I did notice that the headlight switch connector was a little toasty when I replaced the switch, so I went back in, located two "iffy" connections and repaired them. Since I have a new switch connector ordered, I pulled the wires from the old, toasty connecter and plugged them directly onto the new switch. Triple checked the colors to pins - all good. Tonight - yep - headlights started flashing on and off after about 15 minutes. Any insight into this situation would be appreciated! Thanks!

sounds like a short ... iirc, lights are on a breaker that will do that with a short ... it could be in that switch, try to wire the lights without the switch and see if they stay on
Thanks, I'll give that a try. I forgot to mention in original post that the headlights will do their flashing thing even w/vehicle stationary and engine off. Grrrr...
