Hi Nick .

That is the "ALDL" port "Assembly Line Data Link" ....


And yes , with the right cable there is some data that can be taken from there . Also called "OBD1" "On Board Diagnostics 1" . This was , as the 1 specifies , the first on board system that would give trouble codes to aid in the diagnosis/repair of certain drivetrain related faults . The GREAT news is , that by jumping the correct two of those pins , you can get the check engine light to flash out any stored codes for ya . Just type PAPERCLIP into the search bar at the top of the page and you will find all kinds of descriptions of the procedure .

ALDL is a 12 pin connector.Just jump A & B with a paperclip and you will get trouble codes if stored.The first one should be 12. Each trouble code is repeted 3 times.
