Could it work to prime? but not start car (starting off of oil pressure) but still run car once started?

Just an recent odd issue and was thinking it was IAC (again) or Fuel Pump Relay.

Thanks for the clarification

Prime Time

Yes it can and does.

When you try to start the engine the ECM energizes the pump relay, therefore if you would like to prime it manually you can install a switch to energize the relay.

You should use a momentary switch, which will make it impossible for you to accidentally leave the pump running.

The momentary switch can be used to energize a separate small relay to energize the pump relay.

You can wire the small relay to automatically turn off when you shutdown the engine VIA using a hot in run circuit as the feed for it’s coil circuit.
