Hi guys , can someone tell me what these two connectors are for please?

the aircon compressor has been removed, is it something to do with this?




there are two connectors and what seems to be a little green "earth" wire going under the header

 

Could be,but it would help if WE knew what yr and Make it is.Some yrs had the AC on either side.

 

this is an 85 Trans Am, running 5.0 TPI

 

also got this single Brown connector at the distributor, not sure if this is meant to go anywhere?

 

The AC should have two different plugs,1 round and 1 flat,the 1 your showing can you remove the tape and show a pic,

the only wire going that direction would be the temp gauge,

 

The round plug is on the passenger side near the big canister. These are on the other side

 

Does that plug your showing have a transistor looking wire attached to it?under the tape
The AC Compressor has two plugs 1 round 1 flat,they both should be on the left(driver side)

 

they seemed to be both the same iirc (im not at the car at the moment, here is another picture which also shows the thin green wire going down under the header area. again this is driver side.



Is there a wiring diagram I could look at which would show this length of wire with the two connectors and one single green wire?

That Green wire is the Temp Gauge,here is the two AC plugs I'm talking about and the brown wire could be your oil pressure gauge,are your gauges working??

 

looks like they could be the ones, I will check to see if my temp sensor is working, sorry to go O/T but is the temp sensor in that location for the gauge or the ECM?

Many thanks for taking the time to get the pics, as I no longer have the A/C could i cut those wires further back leaving the just green one, and isolate the two AC wires. the cable is a bloody mess haha

 

That green wire is for gauge only,the temp sensor IIRC is at the front of the engine.I'll do some more looking and get back to you.My book doesn't seem to have the wire diagram.I'll get back to you in a little while.

Here's some info on the locations of the sensors and emission controls,it's very helpful figuring out were these are located.85 and 86 should be the same.

 

Excellent , I think it is under the intake pipe. Does anyone know the resistance the sensor should show when hot/cold?
