Need headlight help

So im having a problem with the headlights on my 89 trans am, i put my headlights on today and the drivers side will open on its own but dosnt close and the passenger side wont open, but if its open when i turn on the lights it closes its self, any ideas?
Or does any one have a wiring diagram for the headlight motors? Thanks

The wiring diagram is in the 1989 Firebird Service Manual. You should own one if you plan to keep this car and especially if you plan to do the repairs yourself. www.helminc.com sells them new. They have recently started selling them on roackauto.com also. They often show up in eBay too.

As for your headlight issue, it sounds as if the headlight control module is bad. I would unplug the headlight motors and run a jumper to the opposite side motor and see if it you can create the same problem with the opposite side motor.

I normally sell the module but I'm currently out of stock. Placing an order for one on my web site will put you at the front of the line for when I do have one available.
