i used the search feature but couldn't find a way to test anything. I have an 87 trans am gta with a 5.7 tpi engine that ran good but then sat for over a year. When i try to start to start it, it cranks over but will not start. I check for spark today and got nothing. the way i checked was the old school method screwdriver in the plug wire, cranked over and looked for an arch. I then checked the wires going to the coil. the pink wire has constant power when ignition is on but the white wire does nothing. From what i read here on the forums it should pulsate when cranking the engine over but does not. Where do i go from here?

 

No spark usually means Bad Coil.

ok finally got around to installing a new distributer, cap, rotor, and module. Still no spark!! Any other suggestions?
Did 87 GTA's come with vats?
