Hi beam help

I can see the rod moving, but it's not moving enough to turn on. Any idea what to do? 92 firebird.

Re: Hi beam help

Does your car have tilt steering? If so try pulling down on the wheel a bit and pulling the lever. The tilt steering is notoriously bad for either the screws on the hinges coming loose or the pins wearing thru the housing which creates enough slop that the rod doesn't actuate the switch properly. If pulling the wheel down makes the switch work, you have two options: you can simply reposition the switch on the column or you can try and fix the actual cause and tighten up the tilt steering (better, but more difficult).
