Wanting To Add Cruse Control: Best Option(s)?

1989 Formula; 305 TBI/T5

I'm wanting to add cruise control to my car. Is a factory retrofit, or an aftermarket unit the best way to go?

If it's aftermarket, what are the best ones?

Thanks

Hit up a salvage yard or find someone on here parting a complete car and install all the parts. Its fairly easy to do. Maybe take a day if you have all the stuff

Re: Wanting To Add Cruse Control: Best Option(s)?

I have a Audiovox CCS-100 aftermarket cruise control new in the box, I bought it for my Jeep and never got around to installing it. It works with auto or standard trans, hooks up three ways by tach or VSS & tach or with a driveshaft magnet pick-up kit for older cars. Has a small dash mounted control switch, or I was going to get a factory cruise stalk and wire it in.

You can read reviews here; http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-CCS10...r&pageNumber=1

I'd take $75 shipped......

Re: Wanting To Add Cruse Control: Best Option(s)?

This is relevant to my interests.

My car seems to have the wiring for CC (a hose coming out of the firewall that hooks to the brake pedal, and a power module.) There's also a black box in the dash that has a pcb on it that I'm not sure what its for. (car also has a separate yellow box which I've heard is for VSS.) Considering the steering column is wired (is it?) I would think all we need is the CC module and the control stick on the column? I'm a long way off from needing this, but if I plan to drive this car more than locally, it'd be something I'd really want ot have.
