Throttle cable options tpi

I can't seem to find anywhere that stocks the tpi throttle cable (pre 89 style) What is everyone doing? Any options? I want new old stock ideally.

The throttle body seems to be sticking slightly, only when the engine is running- its not the bores or flaps as its a rebuilt one. Strangely lubing it made it worse (I also lubed the cable in the car and under the hood).

Thanks

Re: Throttle cable options tpi

What makes you think it's cable itself and not the throttle body? Have you tried disconnecting the cable to see if it still sticks?
I ordered a cable online when I swapped throttle bodies to an earlier style (85-88).

They have probably been discontinued. I have recently noticed that the stock TPI throttle cable is no longer carried by Rock Auto. I bought a couple from them about 2 years ago. My local auto parts store tried and could not find it.

Thanks guys. Not 100% what it is but read lots about people having the same issue- almost like vacuum when warm prevents it.

I just got me a 2nd return spring and she closes fine now.

Fred, if you fancy selling me one of those cables please do PM me.

ZZ42FAST, I've used one of them and I'm going to keep the other. Sorry.
