Crank, no fuel to injectors. Vats?
(This is a repost from the TBI section. I thought I should ask here instead.)
Hi,
I just spent the afternoon tightening my steering column bolts. After I reassembled everything, I went to start my car and it won't fire. I have crank but no fuel to the injectors. I have a code 53 and sec light is on solid. My FP is less than a month old, my alternator is lest than a year old and I have new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The previous owner had soldered the spare key to the vats wires under the steering column and the car has worked perfectly up until this point. I pulled it into the garage to tighten the steering wheel and now I can't get it running. Any help would be appreciated as this is my daily.
Thanks,
-Jake

"The previous owner had soldered the spare key to the vats wires under the steering column"

SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
If the car cranks, it's not VATS

I don't know what else it could be. Other than the steering column I haven't touched anything. All I can think of is that the VATS is malfunctioning. Could it be that because I left the battery unplugged for two days that the ECM and VATS aren't communicating thus stopping the fuel pump from running? I know the FP works, I can hear it prime. I am going to replace the spare key with an actual resistor in the hopes that it creates a better connection. That would be the only thing I could think of that is causing my security light to come on.
