Maxed Out Oil Pressure & Battery Gauge

Hey everyone,

I have a couple electrical bugs I'm trying to work out.

The car ('89 RS) starts and runs fine. But the battery gauge never moves from pounting straight down, it's maxed out on 0 or whatever. It's pointing at like 6 o'clock. The batteries not drained as I can start the car and run the lights and whatnot.

The other gauge issue is the oil pressure gauge. It kind of bounces around but is usually pegged/maxed out past 80 psi. Any ideas?

And for fun, I'll throw in my other question. The hazards work fine but the turn signals stay solid rather than blink. All the lights/bulbs are fine. I have yet to check the relay since I'm still not 100% sure on where it is but that's what I'm hoping it is. Any other possibilities?

Thanks in advance for any help!

You need to check the flasher also. Make sure everything filament on the car works too. I think a bad ground can cause this too. If you put an aftermarket speaker with a big magnet in the magnetic field can cause the voltmeter to do that.

I had the same problem with the flashers where they'd only work with the hazard. Turned out to be a bad ground connection up at the front of the car where the ring terminal attaches to the body of the car near the headlight. Not sure if it's the same on Camaro, but definitely check for bad grounds.
