elec fuel pump and ecm
I bought a 1987 Iroc roller that has the elec fuel pump. I took the complete drive train out of my 1987 coupe and installed in this car. ( 350 carbed motor and 700r4 trans) I want to keep the elec fuel pump, I know it works. My questions are (1) I want to remove the ecm, looking at the existing harness where it goes thru the passenger fender and under the dash there are only 3 wire's, black, blue and green. Can I just unplug this connecter and leave ecm under dash or is there more I have to remove ? (2) I was tracing the harness to the ecm and found several places where the previous owner had cut and spliced wire's ( hack job) so I am thinking I can just remove the complete harness from the engine compartment and install the harness from the 87 Camaro sport coupe I took the motor and trans from. everything worked as it should in the coupe.(3) The other question is can I just get power for the fuel pump relay from the fuse panel for the switched 12v and install a fused wire to the battery for the constant 12 volts to the relay. I know just enough about elec to be dangerous so any help would be great.
Thanks Ron
