1987 Trans Am

I have found a digital dash with bezels that a guy i know has and is selling. Im not too worried about the price.

What do you need to do a conversion from the analog to a digital?

I dont plan on putting the heater controls, washer coolant sensor or light sensors in. Basically just the basic stuff.

Do I need new harnesses?

here is a start:

without wiring the sensors, you will get constant error codes.

Re: 1987 Trans Am

I thought about doing this same thing for my Berlinetta, but quickly realized it is way too much work to get the desired effect. I don't want to dissuade you, but at least for me it'd be easier to just get a different car with the digital dash factory.

An alternative exists, but I'm not sure of its quality. You can get aftermarket digital gauges for third gens (and most cars) and they don't generally require all the sensors the factory dashes do. Up to you, but I'm interested to see your results and I'll be monitoring this thread.

Both aftermarket digital dashes and gm digital dash swaps have been done on this forum.
