Elusive Short
I was driving the other day and all of a sudden my car dies. This has happened before so I automatically knew what it was. The inline fuse off the battery blew because it shorts out somewhere. I pop the hood and put another in. Drive a little ways further and it did it again, this time giving every fuse no chance. Last time it sat for a couple days and worked itself out. Not really sure where to start to try and find the short. I've unplugged the fuel pump relay and oil pressure switch and it stills blows. Any one else have any ideas?

About all you can do is trace all the big red wires until you come to either another fuse, or the chafed spot.
A question that comes to mind is, what is a fuse doing in such a place as that? Sounds like your wiring might have been hacked on a little bit, which at least doubles the fun of finding where it's fornicated. Although sometimes that's a blessing; just look at all the hack jobs, odds are FAR higher that the fault will be found where something has been sodomized, than where it's untouched.

I don't think its hacked up but I did find what was wrong... sorta. I unplugged the 3 plugs for my ECM and plugged that fuse back in and it didn't pop. So one by one I plugged it back in and checked the fuse after each one and it didn't blow the fuse. Turned the key and it fired right up.
