fuel sender wire at instrument panel help
Ok guys so I'm installing an aftermarket fuel gauge and I know the sender at the tank is suppose to be purple. I don't have any purple back there. Just black, white, and tan white. I pulled my instrument panel out also and I'd prefer to tap in there. Anyone know if this is a purple wire also? Or what color it is and we're it is I know there is 2 plugs the plug in the back of the panel but idk which wore is the sender. I have no purple anywhere.
Re: fuel sender wire at instrument panel help
I recently installed an aftermarket fuel gauge.
When I pulled the gauge cluster out, I followed the printed circuit path from the receiving terminal of the factory gauge to the bulkhead connector (where the gauge cluster assembly plugs/pushes into the dash) . Then I cut that wire at the connector, spliced in an additional length and terminated it on my new fuel gauge.
Works 100%.
Once you get to the bulkhead connector I can't say what colour the wires might be. I traced the wire via the printed circuit path. Pretty easy actually.
