88 Gauge Cluster Pinout
I'm trying to help my friend wire up his new Intellitronix digital gauge on his 88 Camaro.
I installed a red one on my 91 Camaro, and it looks great, so he wanted one for his. However, the 91-92 gauge cluster pinout is readily available online which helped me tremendously when wiring mine up, but I am coming up with nothing for the 88.
I found a pinout for the cluster for an 86, but comparing the diagram from that to the instrument cluster on his car, the wiring definitely doesn't match up (the pinout saying it powers the service engine light for the 86 Camaro goes to somewhere on the tachometer on the 88 camaro etc etc.)
Please let me know if you guys have a pinout for an 88 cluster or know where I can go to find one! I was going to try and get this mainly wired up tonight, but I suppose that's not going to happen anymore!
Anyways thanks for your time and hopefully someone can help me out.

I've noticed that problem recently too. The cluster pin-out provided in the 1986 shop manual is WRONG.
When I investigated a little I found that the clusters are specific to year range; 82-85 and 86-89. The 1986 HELM shop manual diagram shows the INCORRECT 82-85 printed cluster !!
82-85 Printed Circuit PN= 25045480
86-89 Printed Circuit PN= 25081605
Here is the schematic for BOTH cluster types:
82-85 WITH Gauges

86-89 WITH Gauges

** I THINK C1 PIN 3 is used for the "Security" tell-tale warning light on the 89 cluster.

Re: 88 Gauge Cluster Pinout
Those are awesome diagrams thank you!
I did end up doing a lot of probing and back tracking to make my own diagram that actually matched pretty well. I got the cluster wired up and everything but the oil pressure gauge working correctly, so I'll verify my diagram and wiring with what you posted when my friend comes back over for me to do some more work.
I think the wiring I did for his speedometer came loose because it stopped recognizing pulses from the VSS, so I have to take out his cluster again anyways.
