plastic harness pass-through plug

Has anyone ever removed the pastic harness pass-through plug from the wiring on the passenger side where it goes into the computer? It looks like it should pop apart like other connectors but i don't want to break it. I just want to see if i can swap it to another harness to replace a broken one.

thanks.

There is a clip that locks it into place behind the interior kick panel. After you get the clip off the two part plug still has two ears on the inside that have to be pressed in to push the plug out of the port it's locked into.

Sorry, I guess I didn't phrase my question right. The harness is out of the car. I meant how do you get the pass-through plug off the wire bundle? I would like to put one from another harness on.

you have to pry it apart. The silicone sealant has bonded to everything inside there. I used a Xacto knife and screwdriver so that I could re-use it. Leave the wires in the silicone until you get it completely separated. Once it's apart you can pull the wires through the silicone, tearing through the silicone and not damaging the wires (minimal if any damage), but I didn't tear the insulator on the wires when I pulled them out of the silicone.

Ok. I wish i had a pic handy but i am not at home. I saw the two on the sides that probably allow it to swing up or something but i was perplexed by what on the underside looked to be like a little button that maybe pops into a hole and clips? i was wondering if that somehow had to be released as well? I don't want to break it popping the two side ones and just prying like crazy.

thanks.

Anyone know where I can get another one of these. I know other cars besides ours have it, but I am building a harness and need this

It takes time. I think I used a heat gun.

Just to update and ring closure to the thread. Thanks! This worked and i got the old and new ones off and using a heat gun eventually got the wires out of the glue. Strange that they went to the bigger plug in later years because the wire count was almost exactly the same.
