Map lights dont turn off ive checked fuses door jam things they are good headlight switch seems ok I can brighten or dim lights on my gauges and make it clock going ccw dont know what else to do thanks for the help

 

I have a similar problem in my 92. The drivers door is not pushing the little pin switch in far enough to break the connection. The switch tests fine when I push it in by hand, but doesn't move far enough when the door is closed. Both doors have switches that turn the lights on when they open though, so your problem could be either door.

Dumb question, but needs to be asked: you did make sure the switches on the underside of the mirror are off right?

 

Jus tried making sure they are going in far enough you can see the light dim a little than get bright...yes I made sure lol

 

My car has the light under the mirror come on when headlights are on, its not actually the map light, more of an interior lighting thing, the map light is a lot brighter. Not sure if this is what's up for you or not. Is the light only on when the headlights are on?

 

No that wasnt the issue I had but 92RS_Ttop was right rechecked thr door jam thing on passenger side it would have tha lights on if it was pushed all the way in or if the back of the pin wasnt pushed far in enuff taped it left it a little loose and now map lights turn off with doors closed thanks 92RS_Ttop
