Yet another Autometer Speedo Question.
Yet another Autometer Speedo Question.
Ive searched a few threads about the speedo hook-up(and their was a lot of them) but I could not find a definitive answer. I don't want to fry my speedo by hooking it up incorectly, especially since it is from the Custom Shop.
Im running a carb so I removed the ECM and a whole bunch of wires from under hood. I still have the VSS Buffer box.
So what would the proper signal hook-up be? Is the VSS to ECM hook-up needed? Do I just connect the SIG wire from the Autometer gauge to the BRN/YEL wire(which says it is a 2000 PPM or use the GRN/BLK wire that would have lead to the original cluster(which is 4000 PPM).
Or can I just eleminate the whole buffer box also and go straight from the VSS itself, in which case I do no know what is the High Signal and the Low Signal?
Got some pics for reference

You didnt provide the model# of the speedo so this info is generic.
You do not need to connect the wire you have ovaled.
It should work with the 4K sig.
The HI♦LO question will not apply if you are feeding from the VSS.

Re: Yet another Autometer Speedo Question.
Leave the buffer box in place. The 4000ppm signal from pin C to your old cluster is the generic for nearly every speedo, so hook it directly to the new gauge
