(Yet another) turn signal problem

First of all,YES I did a search.Didn't find anything quite like my situation.
Here's what I have:

Drivers front signal doesn't work. The side marker and rear signal works fine. All hazard lights work except for drivers front.
When the headlight switch is pulled out,the drivers side indicator light stays on.
The drivers side parking light works, but the passengers side does not.
Both sets of turn signals 'blink' at the same rate. The flasher is quite audiable.Passengers side signal lights are fine.
I replaced the drivers side front signal light with a brand new 1157A.I still don't have a drivers side signal light.Cleaned all the moisture/crap out of the bulb housing, sprayed with contact cleaner and applied diaelectric grease to base of new bulb.

Looking at other posts,I'm replacing the signal lights and side markers with all new.The passengers side marker is not working FWIW.
Though I personally think 'no', based on what I've read I will replace the signal flasher as well.I have a few laying around that I picked up earlier.Anything else I should be looking for?I am really a stickler about using my turn signals and this is making me pull out (what's left of) my hair, lol. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Re: (Yet another) turn signal problem

Not the flasher. Not possible for the flasher (shared between right & left) to do that to left only.

There's a short between the parking light and turn signal wires at the left front.

Probably the socket is fornicated: contacts bent over together and touching.

Try a new socket.

The right one is probably bad too, just in a different way.

OR someone jammed in the wrong type bulb, with the single contact on it, that is shorting out the two socket leads.

Yeah the socket was kind of crusty.I would expect the other side to be in similar shape. On it not being the flasher,I totally agree with you, but WTH I have some newbies I got a Carlisle just laying around.Going to the FLAPS tomorrow to pick up 2 new sockets along with the bulbs. Thanks for the imput, guys.I'll let you know how I made out, probably after the hellidays, lol.

I know this is kind of old but i just had and fixed the same problem yesterday. In the black long., single row connector at the steering column, the light blue wire in slot H had fallen out. Check out the attached diagram. I hope it can help someone

Re: (Yet another) turn signal problem

That's okay as I still haven't fixed the problem due to insane overtime at work and the fact I haven't even fired up the car in weeks.I ordered 2 socket assemblies from Rock Auto as well as some new bulbs.I figure I'll replace them both regardless and go from there.I tried to use your diagram but I can't seem to make it any larger. Thanks anyway;I'll have to search for that online.I'll probably take a stab at this after the Studebaker Swap Meet in a couple of weeks.Hopefully the weather will be better and I'll be able to jack this thing up high enough to see what the **** I'm doing, lol.
