When my headlights are OFF my brake lights seem to work fine, but when my headlights are ON, my brake lights are stuck on the brightest position...it always looks like i'm on the brake...any ideas?

 

It does that on one side of my car too. I think it could be that a brake light is out so it stays on as a warning.

 

That, or the bulb(s) is(are) in the wrong direction.

 

I decided to change the taillight bulbs after months of driving like this (changing a bulb isn't the easiest thing to do when I have to pull out my custom box and amp rack). Took me 1 1/2 hrs...replaced both brake and turn signals with long life bulbs...must have been a faulty bulb somewhere. Now my brake lights work fine. Thanks.
