Shift light
Did every 3rd gen 305 5 speed come with a shift indicator light on the dash?
Also, besides the early 4spd Muncie, is every manual transmission in a third gen a World Class T-5?
Thanks
Joseph

Re: Shift light
No they sure didn't. Thank goodness.
The Muncie never came in these cars. It was discontinued in about 1974. The 82 4-spd cars mostly came with Saginaw, and maybe 10% or so w B-W T-10.
The 2nd design T-5 was introduced by B-W in about 85. A few car mfrs switched to it by 86; GM continued to buy the 1st design through 87 and switched to the new design in 88. These cars therefore had the early type from 83-87.

Re: Shift light
The t-5 FAQ seems to contradict you.
I am thumbing through the forums trying to learn some.
I think most of my manuals had shift lights. A 2500 Silverado doesnt because I guess it was exempt for being working class. And the LT-1 of course took it down a step and had the CAGS.
I just kind of despise the shift light. It is like they want to punish us for enjoying the ride, but of course they claim it will save the whales, keep kids in school, and prevent all future wars.
