Interestingly different... I like it, it looks very well done. Good job

*sidenote for Fade, A & A is one of a few makes of the Z highrise wing. JEGS sells them for around $170 I think.
A few people have them on thier 'birds on this board, myself included.
Here's one (not very good) shot of it...

(the wheels are winter temporary as well)

Well the real reason I wanted to do it is because the way the look AND the way they turn on an off instantaneously. It looks just like the new Caddys' and Mercedes'. I've noticed lots of big semi trailers have them and also school buses. I will try to get a video of them tomorrow to really show what they're all about. When people see that from behind it definetly stands out. Plus... I never have to replace bulbs again! hehehe

Now I need to buy some blue LEDs and put them in my dash so it looks like the new VWs...

I put blue LED's in my dash I would never go back. You should do it, I get comments from people all the time saying how much they like it. If you have a 89 and below make sure that certain LED’s are higher MCD then others in order to make the backlight look even.

I'd say dont waste your time. I bought those too and what a waste... All you're gonna see is two very VERY dim red dots when you turn your brakes on.

Two very dim lights is exactly correct.

Hey, Crucial...looks pretty good!!!
I think a lot of us on the board (myself included) would like to see some pics of how you actually installed the LED's into the taillight housing. A few shots of the 'guts' would be appreciated!!

I like that alot. I have been considering getting one of those bulbs that have about 10 led's in it and fits in the light socket to see what it would look like. Where did you get them? Did you drill a bunch of little holes in the back of the taillight or what? Did you use red and yellow led's or are they just white and shine through as red and yellow from the lense? Come on I gotta know more!

If anyone's interested I made two small movies of the blinkers and brake lights in action.

Here's how the flashers look like at night. Notice how they turn on and off very quickly.

Flashers

And here's the brake lights. The top "third brake lights" has also been converted to LEDs.

I can make a tech article, I just dont really want to take lights back apart. They way I did it, it would cost around 250 for both tailights including turns signals and brake lights. They're internally regulated so they dont flicker, plus we all know expensive those hot glue sticks are (j/k!). I was doing the movie by myself for the brake lights so I couldnt go in there and push the brakes. I think I'll write a tech article soon enough though.
