blower not coming out vents

Car: 1992 trans am
Engine: 305 tbi
Transmission: th200c
blower not coming out vents

i got an 82 trans am. i just replaced the blower motor cause the old never worked when i bought it. now it works good but doesnt come out the vents. it comes out the defroster fine and the floor but not the vents. also it works on all settings except high. when i put it on high it just shuts off it seems. any ideas?

Defrost vents only = a vacuum problem, NOT electrical. (if there's no vacuum feed to the control valve, or if the valve itself is farkled, air comes out the defrost vents about 80% and the other 20% to the floor)

First make sure the vacuum line is hooked up... all too often, hilljack hacks "improve" their cars by "cleaning up the engine bay" (that's hack code for "hack out everything I don't know what it does and then wonder why lots of random things quit working"... every time I see somebody say they're doing that, I mark down yet another goob that I can't be bothered helping out) and that line is one of the parts that frequently suffers.
