When I try to start my 1986 Trans Am
Re: When I try to start my 1986 Trans Am
Ok , so looking in there , IS there an engine ? If yes , and since we know there is a battery because things do light up and click , next up would be to get a set of jumper cables & a running car and give it a proper jump . Does it start ? If yes the two most likely suspects are the battery or the alternator , just don't forget there are several lesser seen causes as well that could cause it to need a jump so don't just run out and replace either the battery nor the alternator till proper troubleshooting tests actually prove one or the other to be defective .

Have you even checked the batt voltage? It may need a deep charge.A very discharged or dead will need more than a jump start.
