Highbeam indicator light repair?

MY 1987 Firebird failed inspection for a non working highbeam indicator light (of all the things which could possibly cause a fail...). Can someone point me in the right direction for how to fix this? I'm not even sure where the indicator light should be because I don't remember it ever working (previous inspectors must have ignored this).

Hopefully it's just a bulb, but if it's not, where should I start to trace the and fix the problem?

To be clear, it's the light on the dash that caused the failure, not the actual highbeams. The highbeams themselves work, but the light showing that they're on or off does not.

Thanks

EDIT: I fixed it. Turns out the bulb and socket were entirely missing. Looks like the previous owner swapped in a junkyard cluster that never had the bulb to begin with. I swapped in the socket and bulb from another light that isn't used anymore.

Re: Highbeam indicator light repair?

Change the bulb.

To find it, point a flashlight at your cluster. Look for the little blue thing.

If it still doesn't work, then start worrying about what else could be wrong.

99.9999% odds, you won't have to worry.

The reason it's a safety issue is, without it, you stand a good chance of being one of those morons that drive down the road BLINDING everybody else, and you won't even know it.
